Supporting Black youth & their families through advocacy, community building, and mentorship

  • 1:1 Mentoring (At least 4 hours per month) - Your child(ren) will be matched with a Black mentor for individualized support. Their time can be spent discussing challenges & successes, establishing and planning for goals, engaging in culturally-supportive events & activities, and more.

  • Small Group Mentoring (Up to 3 meetings per month) - If your child is not interested in having formal 1:1 mentoring or would like additional support & socialization we also offer group mentoring. The meetups with consist of 1-3 mentors hosting opportunities for organized activities, free-play, and educational outings with mentees grouped by age.

  • LPM Family Events (1-2 events quarterly) - Open to all family members of enrolled youth. Program coordinators will work with families to organize dinners, game nights, and other opportunities for LPM Families to engage, build social capital, and support one another.

We are a nonprofit, community-based program and do not charge for mentorship services and there are no annual membership fees or dues. If your child(ren)’s mentor is planning on taking them to an event or activity with an associated cost then you will be notified prior to the event.

We do accept donations to support the operation of the program, including mileage/gas for mentors, food & supplies for family events, and outreach.
